A bit about me...

I married my best friend, Mark, in 2003. We welcomed our first child in 2006. Since then we have added 5 more! I love being a mother to our six beautiful children who were born at various locations from hospital to birth center to home. I am excited to support couples wherever they desire to birth. I believe education is the means to empower couples with the ability to make the best birth choices for their situation. I am thrilled to support others on their passage to parenthood as so many have supported me.

Why I became a
Childbirth Educator

In 2010 shortly after the birth of my third child, a dear friend had her first baby.  She wanted to breastfeed but was having a particularly hard time.  She contacted me and cried for help.  I went to her home and helped her learn how to position the baby, how to know if it is a good latch but mostly gave her a lot of love and encouragement.  As I left her home it felt AMAZING to help another woman!  I wanted to do this more.  I wanted to help and support women in becoming mothers.  I held onto that feeling wondering how I could lend myself and what I had learned as a young mother to other women.  Over a year later I met Donna Ryan (founder of Birth Boot Camp). I was intrigued by her classes and when I became pregnant for the fourth time, I instantly knew I wanted to take her birth class to prepare for that pregnancy and birth.  At each of the 10 classes we attended I knew that is what I wanted to do.  I wanted to teach.  Since becoming a mother, I have soaked up all things birth, loved it, revered it, longed to know more, and longed to help other women find the information I wish I would have had the first time I gave birth.  I certified to teach Birth Boot Camp in 2014, co-founded GJ Birth Collective in 2016, became a Birth Boot Camp Doula in 2018 and certified to be a homebirth midwife assistant in January 2023, was hired by Blooming Babie Birth Center in the fall of 2024 as a birth assistant, and started offering placenta encapsulation in 2024 as well. I am now able to educate and support women and men as they become mothers and fathers. It is a joy to watch couples become empowered with education in preparation for their individual birth experience and gain the ability to make informed decisions for their personal experience.  It is thrilling to be a part of the birth community serving growing families through education and support.

"Thank you, Angela, for taking the time and energy to invest in all of us soon-to-be parents!! I'm so appreciative that there is someone like you who has the enthusiasm and passion to educate others on the whole pregnancy and birthing process. I am a firm believer that education is a silver bullet to minimizing fear and ignorance in this world. I admit, I'm still nervous about the whole process (birthing, being a mother), but I am far less fearful and much more accepting of what is to come.
Thank you for providing me and my partner with an array of tools to use that will help us embark on this new and exciting adventure with ease and confidence."

"Angela is AMAZING! She was there for my third birth and I quickly realized that each birth is different and even though I had two little ones at home I was nervous all over again. Angela’s calming manner and gentle voice brought peace to my anxious heart. I can’t thank her enough for her gentle way, and her ability to access the situation and educate me in what would normally be a stressful time."

Thank you for all your help in preparing for a natural birth. Our Lincoln is 3 months old now! I'm so grateful for all the empowering things I learned in birth boot camp. You have such a gift for teaching and empowering! I am so excited that you are now a doula as well!! You will bless so many people!

Angela was truly incredible. From the very start, she helped us feel prepared, which eased so many of our fears. She was with us all night at home, guiding us with such calm and reassurance, then helped us transition to the hospital smoothly. Even after the birth, she stayed by our side, offering support and checking in on us with a visit that meant the world. When I struggled with breastfeeding, she connected me with resources and gave me the confidence I desperately needed. Her presence was so comforting, and she balanced professionalism with warmth in a way that’s just rare. We’re beyond grateful to have had her with us through every moment. Worth every single penny and then some!

"This class was THE best thing I did for myself to prepare for labor. The information was incredible and gave me so much confidence. Angela gave me great resources and compassionate advice. I LOVED my labor and appreciate so much Angela always reiterated that there are no failures when it comes to bringing a life into the world because birth is a miracle no matter how it happens." Jenni F., 2016

Thank you so much, Angela, for all of your hard work and for providing us all with so much in-depth information! Eric and I feel so fortunate to have taken this class and really do feel more prepared for delivery day because of it. Thank you thank you!

"Thank you so much for the wonderful preparation and knowledge you gave us. After talking to couples who went another route, I couldn't be happier with the route we took. You are great at what you do and we will spread the word.. And keep you in mind for a refresher course/doula should we decide to go for 'round 2'."

Angela is an angel. She helped us through our first and second borns’ deliveries and I wished we lived by her for our third. She was so nurturing and knowledgeable. I had quite a few complications with a labor that lasted 4 grueling days. She was there for us through all of it. She helped me get the best possible empowering birth I could have asked for. Through it all I can truly call her a friend. She was the one that figured out what the complications were before the other professionals did. I’m so grateful for her, her knowledge and her supportive family. I strive every day to be half the mom she is. We love you Angela

I hired Angela as a doula for my first birth. I interviewed several doulas and was initially concerned I’d have a difficult time choosing the right person. However I needn’t have worried as I immediately felt at ease with Angela and knew she would be the right fit for me. Angela’s guidance paired with the Birth Boot Camp classes really helped me feel at ease during the last few weeks of my pregnancy. The Birth Boot Camp classes were a wealth of information for me and were also especially helpful for my husband. I went into labor quite suddenly and much earlier than I expected and remember nervously phoning Angela at midnight. She was the calm, reassuring, voice of reason I needed in that moment. I felt comfortable laboring at home knowing that Angela would help me decide when it was time to head to the birth center. When it was time, she promptly met us at the Birth Center just in time to offer her gentle reassurance & to capture the most beautiful photos of our birth. I would absolutely recommend Angela to anyone seeking a doula. I fully believe that my beautiful birth experience was due in large part to her guidance. Thank you Angela!
